Recycled Plastic: Eco-Friendly Fabrics
The global use of plastic has exceeded all expectations and for quite a few years now, single use plastic has been targeted in a bid to put the brakes on the use of plastic. At the other end, recycled plastic bottles can be turned into a great range of fabrics; check out the waterproof travel bags and adventure jackets that are made from recycled plastic that can be found online.
Plastic recycling
We have come a long way as far as plastic recycling is concerned and most of the clear plastic coffee cups that people use are recycled and another generation of cups is born. There are some amazing initiatives to collect plastic from our oceans and everything they collect is recycled into usable materials and we need more ingenious entrepreneurs to find ways to help the planet by using recycled materials in new ways.
Return to glass
Many vendors are returning to glass, with the latest generation of cheap glasses that can have logos printed and are totally reusable. If you are planning a live event anywhere in Thailand, Google can help you find a supplier of F&B packaging that includes glass and plastic products at the lowest prices. This is actually a win-win for both seller and buyer, while unbreakable glass is available, which is a game-changer. Did you know about the benefits of red light therapy?
Camping gear
Tent fabric made from recycled plastic bottles is completely watertight and it won’t be long before someone creates the first sleeping bags made from recycled plastic. We can expect to see more great products like this on the market in the coming few years, as the technology advances and other types of fabric can be laser weaved.
Umbrellas & car covers
This eco-friendly fabric is ideal for umbrella covering and we can expect to see these and other waterproof products, with a wide range of bright colours and laser printed logos and graphics. Tailored car covers are already available from the online supplier, using recycled plastic fabric, which is both waterproof and durable.
Artificial Grass
Yes, you guessed it, artificial grass can be made from recycled plastic bottles, of which we have tonnes and even the green colour is made with natural dye. There are several big companies investing heavily in R&D for Astro-type artificial sporting surfaces, football and tennis are already making good use of premier products made from recycled plastic. Of course, there will always be players that are reluctant to accept artificial grass, but progress cannot be stopped and we certainly have a lot of raw plastic ready to be turned into something productive. How long will it be before we have artificial surfaces that last forever? Who knows where this will end.
Here is a look at Thailand’s plan for plastic in the coming years, as most countries focus on promoting eco-friendly sectors to tackle the environmental issues we all know exist.
