What Can You Do on a Lake Vacation? 5 Epic Ideas

Did you know that the average American in the south spends on average 564 dollars a year on domestic travel? While the same person will spend around 3000 dollars on international travel! Many of these people will vacation around some famous lakes and for good reason!

Are you and your family preparing for a lake vacation? Aren’t exactly sure how you’re going to keep yourself occupied? Read on below for 5 epic ideas that will take your vacation to the next level!

  1. Book Your Boat Rental Beforehand

One of the most epic things to have on a lake vacation is a boat at hand to spend your days on the water. Make sure you book your boat with all its accessories beforehand, as they usually get booked up fast.

Include in our hire package a set of skis and any other fun watersport equipment that you know your family will love. If you have a younger family you can even hire the boat out, to spend some days cruising out on the water. A great boat to think of is a boats scarab for the performance potential.

2. Hire a Water Trampoline

By far the most fun accessory for kids, and even adults, is a water trampoline. Nothing else will keep your children occupied for hours on end and it’s good exercise for them. Place the trampoline in shallow water so you don’t have to swim too far out to get onto it.

3. Hire a SUP on Your Lake Vacation

A SUP or stand-up paddleboard is a great way for you and your family to stay and burn up some of those unwanted holiday calories, on your next lake vacation.

If you are not so familiar with a SUP, start on your knees and work your way up to your feet from there. Trust me it is a whole lot of fun.

4. Plan a Spa Day

Sometimes vacations don’t always go to plan and the weather can wreak havoc. Have a list of nearby spas that you can visit should there be a rainy day so you can still make the most of it.

If you have kids then have the same plan for a movie theater, the weather might be bad but at least some fun will be had.

5. Bring Board Games

Nothing brings a family together like playing board games while on vacation. Try to resist the lure of the television and give it a break during your whole holiday. You will be surprised how much bonding takes place over a simple game of Monopoly.

Nothing Beats a Lake Vacation.

Not many vacations can top a lake vacation with the family. With so many options available today, going once a year is a realistic option. Even if you don’t have the money to hire out many toys, lots of fun can still be had.Are you looking for other vacation tips? Not sure where to go too?
